How did you two meet?
We met in highschool. Over the years there were times where we tried to make something work but the timing just wasn’t right, however we always remained great friends and in each other’s lives. We finally connected in Toronto in 2016, bothing living in the east end with our puppies and the rest is history!
What’s the proposal story?
We had finally been able to do some back yard visits after months of quarantine. I had been working in the hospital the whole time and Mac was working at home and we were excited to get some time away from the city. It ended up being a beautiful sunny day and we had the best time. When we got home, we immediately changed into track suits ( classic us) and had a bite to eat. As we were eating I noticed a new cord hanging from the TV, so I inquired about it. Mac told me he had put something together for me since I had been having a rough week. So he breaks out a power point presentation, which is full of pictures of us and our dogs. It was so perfect, full of laughs and sweet moments. At the end he got down on one knee and popped the question!
THE DRESS – tell us how you found THE ONE?
I had been scrolling instagram and came across the Santorini Dress. I had been looking for something that was different than the typical wedding dress. I then found out that the only stockist in Toronto was Oh happy Brides, and that it’s owned by Dayle who is a close friend to one of our friends. So I made an appt with Dayle, tried on the santorini and a few others, but I knew the minute I tried on the Santorini that it was the one!
What was the style/theme for your day?
The mood for our day was a relaxed and intimate day. Our photographer Jenn put the whole thing together for us, so we just had to show up in our fancy outfits!
On your wedding day, what were the moments that made you laugh/cry the most?
There were a lot of funny moments during the day. Our one dog Coco spent most of the day digging for rocks and eating our flowers which was pretty entertaining. Lots of good moments during the photos and relaxing with champagne after the ceremony. I cried the most during our vows. We wrote our own and it was just a very surreal moment.
Any bits of advice for our future brides?
Get married how you and your husband want. And wear whatever you’d like. I went dress shopping by myself and it was amazing! The day goes by quickly so don’t get too hung up on the details, the marriage ahead is what to focus on!
